Walk to Mollymook Beach

Discover Narrawallee Beach

Turn right at the end of the road then right again into Mitchell Road. Follow the bush walk on the right until it takes you down to the beach – its about 20 minutes in all to get there but totally worth the views on the way and the beach when you get there. It’s a very flat shallow beach great for walking and paddling and those who prefer a gentler bay beach for swimming, the rocky outcrops are stunning too for photography.

Shopping at Mollymook

There are some great local shops about 7 mins walks from the house. Turn right at the end of the road, left at the end of that road then follow the road all the way down then turn right into Tallwood road and the shops are right there. They include a Newsagency and Chemist, a Gift shop of locals artists’ work, a small but super clean supermarket, a deli that does incredible cakes and great coffee, a bakery, a butcher, a fish and chip/burger shop, and a bottle shop – in other words pretty much all you need! There is also a fabulous rooftop bar and brasserie at Bannisters Pavilion here. Great food and delicious cocktails!

Shopping at Ulladulla

Ulladulla is the main shopping area for the larger stores including supermarkets and homewares stores.It is less than a 10 min drive from the house going further south. Head down to Mollymook Central and follow the signs! It also has a lovely harbour with cafes overlooking the view to enjoy and a great sea pool with grassy areas around to relax. Enjoy fish and chips from the Fish Co-op too.

Shopping at Milton

You would have driven through it on your way here if coming from Sydney – its on the Princes Highway just 10 mins North West of Mollymook. Great gift shops, cafes, worth a stroll and perfect for a group of girls to enjoy for the day/half day!

Markets

Milton Markets are the first Saturday of each month and on Saturdays of long weekends and Mollymook Beach Markets are the 5th Sunday of each month.

Rick Stein’s at Bannisters

One of the main reasons we picked the house that we did in Mollymook is it’s proximity to Rick Stein’s Restaurant – its literally a 5 minute walk away! If you haven’t enjoyed any of Rick Stein’s cookery books or television series in the past I highly recommend you start now! I find his gentle melancholic voice and his passion for seafood and simple fresh flavoured cookery both relaxing and refreshing at the same time. There’s nothing try hard about Rick he just loves what he does and thankfully we get to enjoy it too! So we recommend you book well in advance of your stay so you don’t miss out

Bannisters Pool & Pizza Bar

The Rooftop Bistro

Thankfully the lovely Peter that invested money in Bannisters to make it a great venue for all of us to enjoy has created another fabulous food and beverage venue, The Rooftop Bistro, to enjoy in Mollymook and its again in walking distance to the house – just a 10 min walk. Located rooftop and by the pool they offer great Bistro food and delicious cocktails and wines. The service has been excellent every time we’ve been we love it.

Mollymook Golf Club

If you’re looking for a great value feed of substantial proportion head to the Mollymook Golf Club. It’s a sizeable venue located at the south end of Mollymook Beach great views in the day/early evening.

Shoalhaven Events

The Shoalhaven Coast Region has many events throughout the year showcasing local produce. From the Shoalhaven celebration of food Festival held throughout May featuring long lunches, dinners & cooking classes to Kangaroo Valley Foraging in the spring and the South Coast Food & Wine Festival held at Huskisson in October. Plan your visit around one of these events – you will be left wanting to come back for more.
